Community Planning and Development (CPD) and City Council continue to state there are NO IMPACTS to Denver neighborhoods with Residential Care facilities, even when considering Community Corrections facilities.
CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS SAY
* Councilwoman Kniech: “We don’t get complaints from Community Corrections facilities," speaking as if people have finished serving their time (they have not).
* Councilwoman CdeBaca: "We could prove there are no issues, that there have not been issues or complaints, that are reasonable justification for not having them in anywhere else in the City," regarding placement in single-family neighborhoods.
* Councilwoman Sandoval: Spoke favorably about Independence House in her district, emphasizing there has been "never one complaint."
